Unlawful Sex with a Minor -- Statutory Rape

The age of consent in California is eighteen years of age. Anyone having sex with someone under the age of consent who is more than three years older than the minor can be charged with this offense.

These charges can lead to serious penalties including jail time and the possibility of have to register as a sex offender.

I've been successful in representing clients who were able to avoid registration. This can be even more important than avoiding jail as being forced to register makes a normal life almost impossible.
